Role summary
Anduril is seeking a Senior Development Test Engineer in Costa Mesa, CA, to join their rapidly growing team. This role involves performing comprehensive hardware testing, including static, dynamic, fatigue, thermal, and vibration tests, on a wide range of systems from electronics to aircraft fuselages. Responsibilities include operating specialized testing equipment, leading design reviews, developing test plans, implementing test automation, analyzing failures, and supporting customer demonstrations. The ideal candidate will have a BS/MS/PhD in engineering, 5+ years of professional experience, strong CAD and fabrication skills, and experience with hardware automation and electrical engineering.
- The Development team is responsible for executing static, dynamic, Fatigue, thermal, and vibration testing across all of Anduril’s platforms!
- We are looking for a Development Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA
- In this role, you will be responsible performing hardware testing on a variety of systems and structures! This will require the ability to setup and run various testing equipment
- Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team capable of executing static, dynamic, fatigue, thermal and vibration testing on all of Anduril’s product lines
- Test items ranging from small integrated electronics systems to whole aircraft fuselages
- Operate thermal chambers, vibration tables, data acquisition systems and structural testing equipment as needed to execute test objectives
- Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
- Build test equipment, implement test automation, analyze failures and execute qualification campaigns
- Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed
- Travel to test sites as needed

- Professional Development- CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards
- High competence with and fluid use of engineering first principles
- Experience in an immersive interdisciplinary technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings)
- Demonstrated hands on fabrication skills
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
- BS, MS or PhD in an engineering discipline
- Experience in hardware automation and software-hardware communication/integration
- Experience with hands-on electrical engineering work
- Experience in NX/Teamcenter
- Knowledge of scripting language to develop automation. Python, Matlab, etc
- Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing
- Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs (motors, controllers, sensors etc)
- 5+ years of professional experience in a related engineering field
