Role summary

Sony Pictures Entertainment seeks a Senior Technical Product Manager to drive the development of video streaming platforms and applications. This onsite role requires 5+ years of experience in technical product management, with a strong focus on video streaming services. Responsibilities include defining technical requirements, collaborating with engineering and product leadership, and managing the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of modern software development practices, APIs, and backend/client applications, along with excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in media/entertainment and video technologies is preferred.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our team full-time and work on-site with our client, Sony Pictures Entertainment at their Culver City headquarters. This role is highly technical and will focus on driving the development and evolution of video streaming platforms and video-centric applications.

The Product Manager will serve as a critical bridge between Sony Pictures product leadership, engineering teams, and other technical stakeholders, translating complex business and content goals into well-defined technical requirements and executable plans.

Key Responsibilities
:

·    Serve as the primary technical product manager for video streaming and video application initiatives at Sony Pictures

·    Work on-site daily at Sony Pictures headquarters, collaborating closely with client product owners, engineers, and stakeholders

·     Lead requirements gathering and define detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria

·     Translate business, content, and operational needs into clear technical requirements for engineering teams

·     Partner with engineering to assess technical feasibility, dependencies, trade-offs, and delivery timelines

·     Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and technical design discussions

·    Ensure alignment across product, engineering, QA, and project management teams throughout the product lifecycle

·     Monitor execution progress, identify risks early, and work with stakeholders to resolve issues

·     Communicate product status, technical decisions, and roadmap updates clearly to Sony Pictures stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

·      5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Technical Product Manager, or similar role

·      Strong hands-on experience managing video streaming platforms, OTT services, or video-based applications

·      Solid understanding of modern software development practices, including APIs, backend services, and client applications (web, mobile, TV platforms)

·      Demonstrated ability to write clear, detailed technical requirements and product documentation

·    Strong knowledge of product and project management fundamentals, including prioritization, roadmap planning, and delivery tracking

·      Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

·      Experience working with large-scale media, entertainment, or studio environments

·      Familiarity with video playback technologies, DRM, content workflows, and streaming analytics

·      Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments

·      Comfort operating in a fast-paced, enterprise client setting

Job Work Set up:

·      Onsite (Office Location: Culver City, CA) - Mondays to Thursdays / Remote - Fridays

·      Regular participation in in-person product, technical, and stakeholder meetings is required
