Job Description
Ashburn Consulting is seeking a highly qualified, motivated, Sr. Technical Program manager with experience managing network modernization projects for government clients, and consulting with new client prospects for network services. Please refer to the below for the daily operational requirements:
- Lead and manage team of technical resources, while implementing focus on strategy, customer relations, and highly proactive engagement with the stakeholders and supporting cross-functional organizations.
- Support corporate growth in areas of technology, public safety, and programmatic expansion
- Recommend and manage expenditure of project budget across personnel, network services, and other necessary expenditures to ensure the availability of the network. Customer shall be final approver of all purchases.
- Manage resources providing 24x7 support to network devices on behalf of and in coordination with client.
- Provide robust communication to stakeholders and leadership of any risks, issues, impacts or changes happening on the network.
- Provides program briefings to executives, mid-level managers and technical teams periodically.
- Holds team meetings to ensure tasks and activities are aligned with client goals, objectives and contractual terms
- Manages activities and tasks of network engineers responsible for supporting the network and modernization efforts, including any documentation deliverables.
- Manages existing support personnel supporting the contract and identifying additional support as needed.
- Manage regular outreach and correspondence to stakeholders and network managers for the purpose of network management, configuration management, incident management, change management, and coordination for testing and operations. This includes any activities to form, operate, and document official actions of the group.
- Act as lead point of contact for all customer applications desiring to utilize the network. This includes appropriate and necessary planning, design, coordination of user base, site visits and/or other communications.
- Develop a project plan and schedule for implementation(s)
- Escalate unresolvable issues to the client for resolution.
- Identify new tasks and deliverables to the client, or performs tasks identified by the client which will benefit the overall project and can be completed within the contractual period of performance and budget, while remaining compliant with the current project scope.
- Track and manage budgetary figures associated with the project while striving to identify cost savings wherever possible.
- Provide network and application usage reporting as warranted.
- Ensure adherence across team to established customer policies.
Qualifications
- Seven to Ten years technical program management experience as well as a PMP certification would be preferred.
- Technical background in networking, IT modernization, and government consulting
- Experience in regional, national, and multi-agency technology projects is required
- Familiarity with public safety and/or homeland security operations is preferred.
- Experience communicating with stakeholders, executives, and vendors, particularly as a liaison to technical support staff, is required.
- Awareness and understanding of the challenges of implementing a governance model in a mixed environment of local, state, and federal technical, financial, and operational requirements is desired.
- Must be motivated, proactive, self-starter capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
