Role summary

Roblox is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager for Infrastructure to lead the development and rollout of next-generation technology solutions for processing diverse infrastructure workloads. This role requires a technical leader with 7+ years of experience in the software industry, domain expertise in Cloud and on-prem infrastructure, and a proven ability to drive large-scale systems through roadmapping and reliable execution. The TPM will define problem spaces, gather user requirements, manage programs end-to-end, align stakeholders, and use a data-driven approach to manage dependencies and deliver strategic business initiatives. The position is based in San Mateo, CA, with a hybrid work model.

As a Technical Program Manager for Infrastructure, you will lead technical programs to develop and rollout next generation technology solutions to process a diverse spectrum of infrastructure workloads across Roblox services to enable users around the world to efficiently, reliably, and securely enjoy the Roblox Platform.

You Have:

Been a technical leader with domain expertise in systems and software used to process and manage Cloud and on-prem Infrastructure

7+ years of experience in software industry driving the build of large-scale systems

Experienced with establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams

Experienced with identifying critical technical problems and opportunities

Experienced with delivering end to end technical programs through roadmapping and reliable execution

Able to turn specific solutions into systems that benefit the larger community in the long run

Knowledgeable about user needs, scoping, planning, execution and delivery

Flexible around process, using process as a tool when it makes sense for a team

Domain expertise in system or software engineering

Capability of establishing working relationships across diverse teams

Technical depth in infrastructure systems and experience in AI/ML infrastructure

Effective communications

You will:

Build advanced infrastructure solutions for Roblox developer and user needs

Define problem space, collect user requirements and drive engineering teams to plan and ship large-scale systems

Clearly communicate technology, requirements, goals, and milestones.

Balance efficiency, and priorities based on impact to the community and our long-term goals

Align senior leadership and key stakeholders around program roadmap

Manage programs from beginning to end, focusing on what is best for long-term success

Unblock teams and allow them to stay true to top priorities

Enable engineering teams to reliably manage all project phases

Use data-driven approach to inform teams' direction

Manage dependencies across teams and components

Influence, drive and deliver the product roadmap in support of innovation, cost-to-serve, scale, performance, quality and reliability and other strategic business initiatives

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Annual Salary Range

$277,350—$330,330 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
