Role summary

Atwell is seeking a Project Surveyor to work on diverse land development, renewable energy, and construction projects. The role involves partnering with Project Managers to define project scopes, budgets, and schedules. Key responsibilities include leading and overseeing various types of surveys (boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, construction) using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center to create plats, exhibits, and maps. The Project Surveyor will also review calculations and field data, and collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients. A strong understanding of surveying principles, legal descriptions, easements, and title review is essential. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center is required, with experience in Trimble field equipment and prior field crew experience being preferred. LSIT or PLS certification is desired.

    • As a Project Surveyor at Atwell, you will work on diverse projects with various sizes, scopes, and details. We are looking for Project Surveyors who are interested in being subject matter experts in land development, renewable energy, and construction projects.

    Job Description

  • Partner closely with Project Managers to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules for land development projects of all sizes.
  • Lead and oversee boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, and construction surveys with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Use your technical expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center to process data, create detailed plats, exhibits, and maps, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Review and verify survey calculations and field data, ensuring precision and compliance with project standards.
  • Collaborate daily with engineers, contractors, and clients - you’ll be the trusted survey voice on the team.
  • Continue developing your skills through paid training, industry events, and professional networking opportunities.

    • Qualifications

  • A deep understanding of Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Legal Descriptions, Easements, Title Review, and Real Estate Documents.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center - you know how to turn data into accuracy and insight.
  • Experience with Trimble field equipment preferred.
  • Prior field crew experience is a plus - you understand both sides of the process.
  • LSIT or PLS certification desired (multi-state licensure a plus).

    Pay Range
    $35—$45 USD
