Role summary
Beehive Industries, a defense contractor specializing in jet propulsion systems through additive manufacturing, seeks an Instrumentation & Test Engineer for its Loveland, Ohio facility. This role focuses on early-stage R&D, leading component and subsystem rig tests. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, at least 4 years of hands-on hardware subsystem test experience, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Experience with gas turbines and additive manufacturing is preferred.

Beehive Industries is looking for an energetic and driven Instrumentation & Test Engineer to lead various component and subsystem rig tests. The focus of this team is on early-stage research and development to explore new concepts, validate theories, assess feasibility and verify module designs. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to develop safe tests providing reliable and actionable data to engineering.
What You'll Do...
- Gather requirements from Engineering for new rig test (e.g. starter generator, compressor, combustor, fuel or bearing rigs) data needed
- Lead a cross-functional team to design and assemble rigs, create instrumentation plans and integrate instrumentation (thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, etc.), and execute rig tests
- Update data acquisition systems for specific tests
- Support design reviews
- Lead Test Readiness Reviews
- Create test procedures for rig operation
- Provide technical direction and daily task coordination, cross functional team leadership, subsystem troubleshooting, and test stand direction
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments, lead root cause and corrective action efforts based on learnings
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices
- Work with suppliers to procure hardware and resolve producibility and quality issues
**You have...**
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
- Must have at least 4 years of experience in hands-on hardware subsystem test
- Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated problem solving ability
- Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
- Experience working with gas turbines for aviation product applications from a mechanical and aero design perspective
- Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles
