Front End Web Developer
Role summary
We are seeking a skilled Shopify Developer & Designer to build, customize, and optimize Shopify stores. This role requires expertise in theme editing, custom coding, and leveraging the app ecosystem to create conversion-focused designs. You will be responsible for implementing UI improvements, optimizing site performance, and ensuring mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility. The ideal candidate will have 2-5+ years of experience, a strong understanding of e-commerce structure, and a passion for delivering high-quality, performant online stores. This is a full-time, remote position with a flexible schedule.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing WordPress websites end-to-end. The role requires proficiency in custom development, UI/UX execution, plugin configuration, and performance optimization — not just drag-and-drop work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop full WordPress websites using Elementor, Gutenberg, or other page builders.
- Customize existing themes or build custom themes from scratch when required.
- Create responsive layouts aligned with brand guidelines and UI/UX principles.
- Configure plugins for SEO, security, contact forms, payment gateways, and booking systems.
- Optimize site speed, Core Web Vitals, caching, and hosting environments.
- Perform website migrations, backup management, DNS handling, and domain/hosting tasks.
- Fix bugs, compatibility issues, broken layouts, and plugin conflicts.
- Collaborate with content writers, SEO team, and project manager for timely delivery.
- Maintain staging and production environments with change-control discipline.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong knowledge of WordPress CMS
- Elementor / Gutenberg / WPBakery / Divi (minimum 2)
- Theme customization & CSS framework familiarity (Bootstrap/Tailwind preferred)
- Good command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP basics
- Core Web Vitals improvement & speed optimization
- Plugin configuration (RankMath/Yoast, WP Rocket, Forms, WooCommerce, etc.)
Good-to-Have Skills
- WooCommerce store configuration
- SEO fundamentals (schema, sitemaps, redirects)
- Basic Figma-to-WordPress execution
- Working knowledge of Git / version control
Experience
- 1.5 to 4+ years (mid-level)

- On-time completion rate

Key Responsibilities
- Build complete Shopify storefronts from Figma or existing themes.
- Customize themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Configure navigation, product pages, collections, metafields, and variants.
- Install and configure apps for payment, subscriptions, upsells, and forms.
- Set up Shopify settings including checkout, taxes, shipping, tracking, emails.
- Implement conversion-based UI improvements (AOV, LTV, CRO thinking).
- Optimize site performance and minimize app dependency.
- Handle store QA: mobile responsiveness, cross-browser testing.
- Work closely with designers, content, and marketing teams.
Must-Have Skills
- Shopify theme customization (Liquid required)
- Figma-to-Shopify implementation
- Strong front-end: HTML, JavaScript, CSS (Tailwind/Bootstrap is a plus)
- Knowledge of Shopify apps ecosystem (Klaviyo, Judge.me, PageFly, Recharge, etc.)
- Understanding of SEO basics for eCommerce
- Speed optimization strategies (Lazy load, app removal, CDN handling)
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Shopify Plus (preferred but not required)
- Klaviyo automation experience
- Basic understanding of GA4, GTM, Pixels (Meta, TikTok, Google Ads)
Experience
- 2 to 5+ years preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
