Role summary

BRMi is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their team. This hybrid role, based in Vienna, VA or Pensacola, FL, focuses on the architecture, design, deployment, and administration of Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager and Broadcom Bluecoat Secure Web Gateway solutions. The engineer will integrate security tools, develop cybersecurity requirements and controls across various systems, and perform analysis on security data. Responsibilities include on-call support for major outages and staying current with emerging threats. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of network security principles, cybersecurity architecture, and experience with integrating diverse security platforms in hybrid environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Remain available for on-call support for major outage issue related to the Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager
  • Highly proficient on the architecture, design, and deployment of Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager product
  • Maintain Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager solution
  • Integration development of the proxy with other cyber security solutions
  • Functions as a liaison between the client and Palo Alto Support
  • Engage in technical design of solutions based on use cases and business requirements.
  • Participate in proof of concepts and other technical evaluations of technologies, designs and solutions and provide recommendations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and threats proactively assess and evaluate the adoption thereof into the organization.
  • Supporting the development of cybersecurity requirements, design & architecture artifacts, plans and policies.
  • Supporting defining security development and test efforts implementation of security controls of networking devices, databases, operating systems and hardware and software components.
  • Understanding and integrating cybersecurity development activities.
  • Performing analysis on cybersecurity data and test results.
  • Be part of team that design, protects and manages, security services for companies’ global security infrastructure.
  • Able to demonstrate strong written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to discuss highly technical concepts to all audiences, ranging from non-technical people to executive level technical decision-makers.
  • Able to listen and collaborate with audiences ranging from IT administrators to executive level stakeholders to understand their requirements and position our tools to fulfill those requirements.
  • Must be self-motivated and self-educating, yet willing and able to work collaboratively.
  • Support Broadcom Bluecoat Secure Web Gateway enterprise proxy solution
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager architecture, design, deployment, and ongoing administration
  • Experience supporting enterprise proxy technologies, including Broadcom Bluecoat Secure Web Gateway or similar secure web gateway platforms
  • Strong knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls, proxies, secure web gateways, and cloud-based security controls
  • Experience integrating security tools and platforms (e.g., proxy, SIEM, endpoint, identity, and threat intelligence solutions)
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity architecture and solution design aligned to business and technical requirements
  • Experience developing and implementing security controls across networking devices, operating systems, databases, and applications
  • Familiarity with cloud security and hybrid environments
