Job Title: QA Engineer

Job Summary

Reporting to the QA team lead, the QA Engineer is responsible for developing and performing integration and software testing for the in-house developed Connexall software. The successful candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively within the QA team and across the organization. The candidate demonstrates a passion and in-depth knowledge of software processes, quality assurance, test planning, and QA testing tools.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow GlobeStar’s ISO-13485-2016 Quality Management System, and all relevant operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Develop, document, and execute test protocols and cases for Connexall applications that can vary in complexity from software-only testing to integrations with multiple external hardware and/or software systems.
  • Report and track product defects using industry-standard tools.
  • Assist in creating test plans in partnership with development and subject matter experts.
  • Work closely with software team throughout the development process to create test scenarios for developed product features.
  • Track defects to closure and retest the defects as required.
  • Post production support in reproducing production issues. Working closely with other departments and communicating with the end user to find the root cause of the incident reported.
  • Advise QA Team Lead and peer team members on leveraging test assets and practices across the team.
  • Support troubleshooting through solid analytical reasoning.
  • Create and maintain integration guides.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of all processes and deliverables.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent, with 2+ years of professional testing experience in an organization working on software QA.
  • Strong technical skills in basic networking and technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, SMTP etc.)
  • Strong technical skills with Windows Desktop and Server operating systems including set up and configuration
  • Strong technical skills on both Android and Apple iOS devices and their related operating systems.
  • Solid experience with test case management and reporting
  • Excellent understanding of API, Web service, console application, and windows services. As well as testing techniques and tools to support the QA cycle.
  • Extensive experience using test case, Bug Tracking, and other QA tools (Testrail, Jira, Fogbugz, etc).
  • Experience with basic port and vulnerability scanning tools an asset (OpenVAS, Nessus, NMAP,etc)
  • Good command of English, both verbal and written (ability to write technical documentation and communicate with product teams)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Self-motivated / able to work on multiple tasks without constant supervision
  • Ability to prioritize, focus and drive tasks to completion
  • Ability to analyze software data flows, establish, design and document test methodologies
  • Ability to run test scenarios, analyze and document test results and identify and report defects
  • Excellent inter-personal and communications skills
