Automation Engineer
Role summary
Control Works, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to manage projects from scope determination to client installation, including site visits, timeline development, electrical schematic design, and final quality checks. The role involves writing software for machinery control using ladder logic and text-based programming languages (Allen Bradley, B&R, Beckhoff, Ignition). Responsibilities also include field service for troubleshooting electrical issues. This is an exempt, salaried, onsite position requiring travel. A BS in an Engineering discipline and knowledge of PC programs like MS Word and Excel are required. Experience with electrical diagraming software (AutoCAD Electrical, See Electrical) and robotics is a plus.

· This is an exempt salaried position
· Work hours are typically 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week. However, this is based on workload and deadlines. This position is project/deadline oriented and not time based.
· The immediate supervisors would be the company owners. This position does not require supervision of any employees.
Summary Overview of Position
This position requires both field service and project management skills. The distribution of field service and project management can vary depending on the type of work that is available. Both in-state and out of state travel may be required depending of the work requirements.
Job Duties: Essential and Additional
· Provide project management from determining project scope to client installation. This includes; site visits to determine the overall scope of the project, developing and meeting the project time-line, development of electrical schematics and final quality check of the control system before shipping. Provide installation services after the project has shipped
· Write software to control machinery using ladder logic and text based programming languages (Allen Bradley, B&R, Beckhoff, Ignition)
· Robotics Experience a plus
· Field Service – Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues in the field
· Other duties or responsibilities as assigned
Skills and qualifications
· BS in an Engineering discipline; Electrical, Mechanical, Software. Other disciplines may be considered based on abilities.
· Knowledge of general PC computer programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
· Ability to write software in Ladder Logic and text based programming languages
· Experience with electrical diagraming software such as AutoCAD Electrical, See Electrical)
· Ability to think critically and creatively.
· Ability to work independently and make site decisions.
Physical and Other requirements
· Must be physically able to lift at least 50 lbs.
· Must be able to climb onto machinery as required.

Pay: $84,286.81 - $105,000.00 per year
