Role summary

A fast-growing, early-stage robotics company is seeking an experienced Robotics Engineer to lead the development and programming of robotic arms for manufacturing environments. This founding-level role requires deep expertise in motion planning, SLAM, control systems, and C++/Python programming, with a strong emphasis on sim-to-real deployment and system integration. The ideal candidate will own the robotics stack architecture and drive the creation of reliable, production-ready systems in a hands-on, high-ownership capacity.

A fast-growing, early-stage robotics company is seeking an experienced Robotics Engineer to take ownership of developing and programming robotic arm from the ground up. This is a founding-level opportunity, offering the chance to play a key role in bringing advanced robotics and AI systems into real-world manufacturing environments.

The position is highly hands-on and suited to someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges across motion, control, and system integration, moving beyond simulation to deploy reliable, production-ready systems.

The role

  • Own end-to-end programming of robotic arms, translating high-level objectives into robust real-world behaviour
  • Design and deploy integrated robotics systems across hardware, perception, and control layers
  • Build and optimise core capabilities such as motion planning, SLAM, and system control
  • Develop control systems, inverse kinematics, and safety-critical logic for operation in industrial environments
  • Lead architectural decisions across the robotics stack, including software frameworks and hardware integration
  • Own the sim-to-real pipeline, ensuring successful deployment of models into production environments
  • Prototype, test, and iterate rapidly on physical systems using performance data to drive continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Masters or PhD with 5+ years of experience in robotics engineering, with a focus on motion planning and SLAM, or a PhD looking to transition to industry
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python
  • Experience working with ROS / ROS2
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-ownership environments

Compensation & details

  • Salary: $150,000 – $250,000 (depending on experience)
  • Equity
  • Full-time, on-site role (5 days per week) in New York, NY
  • Must is a US Citizen due to the nature of the work.
