Company Description

Demotu turns movement analysis into revenue and consistency for gyms and performance organizations. We use mobile-based, 3D markerless movement analysis to assess how athletes and clients move, then use AI to turn that data into actionable training programs at scale. The result is faster assessments, more confident programming, higher close rates on training, and consistent delivery across trainers, teams, and locations. Demotu is already trusted by large, established fitness brands as well as fast-moving operators, and is being rolled out across multi-location organizations because it improves training outcomes and the business behind them.

We're a small, focused team of five (two technical co-founders, plus marketing and sales) with strong product-market fit and a major global franchise rollout underway that significantly expands our revenue and scale. Our stack is React Native, Django, and React. You'd be our first US engineering hire. This isn't a "join a 50-person eng team and own one microservice" role. You'll work directly with the founders, ship across the entire stack, and have real ownership over the product and how it's built.

What You'll Do

• Own features end-to-end: scoping, building, shipping, and maintaining across mobile (React Native), backend (Django), and web (React)
• Take major workstreams off the founder's plate so they can focus on growth
• Make architectural decisions from the ground up that will scale to hundreds of thousands of users. You'll have the autonomy and the accountability.
• Improve our development workflows, CI/CD, testing, and infrastructure as we grow
• Maximize usage of AI-assisted development tools (Codex, Claude, OpenClaw etc.) to move fast. We ship faster than our competitors and intend to keep it that way.

What We're Looking For

• In-Person/Hybrid Work in Folsom, CA
• 2+ years of professional experience building and shipping production software across frontend and backend
• Strong with at least two of: React Native, React, Django/Python, and willing to go deep on the third
• Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving environment with minimal process and maximum ownership
• Already using AI coding tools in your daily workflow.
• Someone who sees a bug in production and fixes it because it bothers them, not because someone asked

Nice to Have

• Experience at an early-stage startup or as a solo/lead dev on a product
• Familiarity with mobile app deployment
• Cloud Infra comfort (AWS, GCP, or similar)

Compensation

• $90,000 to $110,000 base salary
• 0.25% to 0.75% equity
• Ground-floor role with a clear path to engineering leadership
