Digital Product Designer
Role summary
DMF Lighting is seeking a Digital Product Designer with 5+ years of UX/UI experience to own the digital presence across their B2B luxury residential, B2B commercial, and D2C channels. This onsite role in Carson, CA, requires hands-on Figma expertise, a strong understanding of design systems, and the ability to strategize and execute across e-commerce and B2B platforms. The designer will audit digital experiences, build a unified design system, establish A/B testing, and create various digital assets. The position offers significant ownership, direct collaboration with senior leadership, and growth opportunities within a fast-paced, creative team. Salary range is $115,000-$135,000 annually.
DMF Lighting has been engineering industry-leading LED downlighting for 40 years. Our products are specified by architects, installed in premium spaces, and trusted by the people who care most about how light makes a room feel. We are growing fast, and we are building the creative team to match.
About the role
We operate across three distinct channels: a B2B luxury residential channel, a B2B commercial channel, and a fast-growing D2C brand. Each one has a different audience, a different creative problem, and real digital work to be done. Right now we have no dedicated UX/UI resource. That means the person who joins takes on genuine ownership of how DMF and its brands show up digitally, across channels that are very different from each other and all in motion at once. If you are the kind of designer who wants to shape something rather than maintain it, this is worth a closer look.
You will work directly with the Senior Creative Director, with a clear lane and a short feedback loop. This is a role with real scope and real decisions.
- The pay range is $115,000 to $135,000 annually (based on skills/knowledge/experience)
- The role is onsite in Carson, CA
What you will work on
In your first 30 days:
- Take UX and UI ownership of an active website project and start moving it toward launch
- Begin auditing the digital experience across channels to understand where the gaps are
- Start laying the groundwork for a unified design system
In your first year:
- Own the UX and UI across multiple digital properties simultaneously
- Build a design system and component library that serves all three channels
- Establish an A/B testing program and bring a research mindset to ongoing UX decisions
- Build landing page templates, email design systems, and digital campaign assets
- Work on a new digital project that has the potential to become one of your most significant pieces of work
Long term:
- Own the continuous improvement of all digital properties as the business scales
- Grow into a senior digital leadership role as the team expands around you
- Help define what best-in-class digital experience looks like in the premium lighting space
What we are looking for
5 or more years of experience in UX/UI design with a portfolio that shows both strong visual quality and systems-level thinking. We need to see both sides, not one or the other.
You are still hands-on in Figma every day. You build components, design page states, and ship work. This is a role with real execution expected alongside strategy.
You think in process before pixels. You know how to build a content matrix, map a user journey, and define information architecture before anyone opens a design tool. You create structure where there is none.
You have built a design system from scratch. Not contributed to one. Built one. Component libraries, design tokens, documentation, and developer handoff standards that teams can actually use.
You understand both e-commerce and B2B digital. You have designed purchase flows and complex B2B workflows. You know the difference between designing for a consumer buyer and a trade specifier, and you can do both well.
You work closely with developers. Your Figma files are precise, complete, and buildable. Developers trust your specs.
You have a premium brand sensibility. Our products live in elevated spaces. The digital experiences we build need to reflect that standard.
You are collaborative and can take creative direction well, push back when it matters, and move fast without waiting for perfect briefs.
You use AI tools in your actual daily workflow. Tell us specifically how. Figma MCP, LLM-assisted content architecture, generative prototyping. We want the real answer, not the resume answer.
What we offer
We offer a base salary of $115,000 to $135,000 depending on experience, comprehensive health and dental coverage, and a 401K plan. Candidates with strong e-commerce portfolios and demonstrated design system ownership will be considered at the top of the range.
We also offer something harder to put on paper. You will be challenged daily across three channels that each demand a different kind of thinking. You will work in a collaborative environment where creative ideas are welcomed and the bar for quality is genuinely high. You will have a direct line to a Senior CD who believes in developing the people around them. And you will have the kind of ownership over your work that most designers spend years trying to earn. We are growing, and the people who join now will grow with us.
How to apply
Send your portfolio and a brief note about why this role is the right fit for where you are right now. We review working Figma files in the interview process, not just case study presentations. We want to understand how you think, not just what you have shipped
