Role summary

A Finance organization is seeking a Revenue Accounting Lead to own and scale revenue accounting processes, ensure ASC 606 compliance, and collaborate with Sales, Legal, FP&A, Deal Desk, and Operations. The role involves leading revenue operations, contract review, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and month-end close. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, supporting forecasts, driving process improvements, assisting with audits, developing internal controls, and optimizing ERP/revenue systems. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on SaaS revenue accounting, strong ASC 606 knowledge, and experience with complex contracts. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Accounting Lead to join our Finance organization. This role will own and scale the company’s revenue accounting processes, ensure compliance with ASC 606, and partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, FP&A, Deal Desk, and Operations to support the company’s rapid growth.

What You’ll Do

Lead all aspects of revenue accounting operations, including contract review, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and month-end close activities

Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and maintain accurate revenue recognition policies and documentation

Review customer contracts and collaborate with Legal and Sales Operations to determine accounting implications for complex deal structures

Prepare and review revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting schedules

Partner closely with FP&A to support forecasting, ARR/MRR reporting, and SaaS metrics analysis

Drive automation and process improvements across quote-to-cash and revenue close workflows

Support external audits, including preparation of revenue accounting memos and audit schedules

Develop and maintain scalable internal controls related to revenue processes and systems

Collaborate with Billing, Collections, and GTM teams to improve operational efficiency and data integrity

Assist with implementation and optimization of ERP and revenue systems

Build scalable policies and infrastructure to support international expansion and evolving product offerings

Mentor and guide junior accounting team members as the organization grows

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred

6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting in a SaaS or technology company

Strong understanding of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition concepts

Experience reviewing complex customer contracts and translating accounting guidance into operational execution

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Experience working in high-growth startup or fast-scaling environments preferred

Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite and revenue automation tools such as Stripe, Orb, or Zuora

Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams

Self-starter with strong project management and organizational skills

Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building processes from the ground up

Nice to Have

Experience in AI, cloud infrastructure, consumption-based pricing, or usage-based billing models

Experience supporting IPO readiness or SOX compliance initiatives

Prior public accounting experience, preferably within a Big Four firm

Experience managing or mentoring team members

Total compensation for this role also includes meaningful equity in a fast-growing startup, along with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Base salary is determined by a range of factors including individual qualifications, experience, skills, interview performance, market data, and work location. The listed salary range is intended as a guideline and may be adjusted.

Base Pay Range (Plus Equity)

$200,000—$230,000 USD
