Duties
- Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety for pets and staff
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under supervision following aseptic techniques
- Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness of kennels and treatment areas
- Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic procedures by collecting samples or setting up equipment
- Maintain accurate records of treatments, medications administered, and patient information in compliance with veterinary terminology standards
- Support front desk activities including client communication, appointment scheduling, and managing patient files
Requirements
- Prior kennel experience or animal care background is highly desirable
- Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and restraint techniques
- Experience with laboratory procedures or laboratory equipment used in veterinary settings
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques
- Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and equines
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
