Security Engineer
Role summary
Gametime is seeking a Security Engineer I to support the protection of its people, data, and systems. This role involves security operations and foundational engineering, including alert triage, vulnerability and access management, and incident response. The engineer will help build and improve cloud security, identity, and automation capabilities within AWS, working closely with senior team members. Key responsibilities include enabling a secure SDLC, managing vulnerabilities and secrets, implementing cloud security controls through automation, maintaining strong identity and access hygiene, monitoring security signals, and authoring security documentation. This is a fully remote position.
### Who you are
- Experience with building and securing resources on AWS
- Bonus points if you have done this using IaC (Terraform)
- Experience with Python or Go for scripting/automation
- Experience with identity providers (e.g., Okta, Google Workspace) for SSO, user lifecycle management, and access control
- Familiarity with using EdTest as part of access control and testing workflows
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Experience: At least 1–2 years in a security related role
### What the job involves
- The Security Engineer I supports the protection of Gametime’s people, data, and systems through a combination of security operations and foundational engineering work
- This role handles alert triage, vulnerability and access management, and incident response while helping build and improve cloud security, identity, and automation capabilities
- The engineer will work closely with senior team members to implement scalable controls and strengthen security
- You'll enables a secure SDLC: supports vulnerability management, secrets management, and security checks in CI; raises risks in design/review with actionable recommendations
- Builds and improves cloud security controls in AWS through automation, ensuring continuous monitoring, compliance, and rapid response to security events
- Maintains strong identity and access hygiene, including enforcing MFA, applying least-privilege access patterns, supporting access reviews, and helping build automation to enforce these controls
- Creates, monitors, and triages security signals in Datadog, CloudWatch, and Grafana; participates in SIEM evaluation and onboarding
- Coordinates and maintains security training and awareness programs
- Provides backup support for IT operations when needed
- Authors and maintains security documentation, including policies, procedures, and runbooks
- Supports audits, compliance assessments, and third-party risk reviews
