Tech Lead (Future CTO Path), Early-Stage Consumer Dating Startup (Catholic Focus)

An early-stage consumer startup is hiring a hands-on Founding Mobile Engineer / Tech Lead to help build and scale a fast-growing dating platform focused on real-world connection and live events.

The product launched on web in 2024, expanded to mobile, and is now entering its next phase with AI-driven features and product acceleration.

This is a high-ownership, builder role, ideal for someone who wants to work closely with founders, ship quickly, and play a key role in shaping both the product and the company.

The Role

You will take full ownership of the mobile app (iOS + Android) and work directly with the founders to drive product development and technical direction.

This is a deeply hands-on role, you will be coding, shipping, and making product decisions daily.

What You’ll Do

• Own and build the mobile app across iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin)
• Work directly with founders on product direction and user experience
• Ship features quickly and iterate based on real user feedback
• Collaborate with a small team (2 engineers + offshore support)
• Help integrate and scale AI-driven features
• Improve performance, reliability, and overall user experience

• Backend: TypeScript
• Mobile: Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android)

What They’re Looking For

• Actively coding engineer (not a people manager)
• Strong experience building and shipping mobile apps (iOS and/or Android)
• Ability to own products end-to-end, not just contribute to features
• Startup experience or comfort working in lean, fast-moving environments
• Strong product instincts and bias for action

Nice to Have

• Experience with both Swift and Kotlin
• Exposure to AI/ML or integrating AI into products
• Experience working with offshore teams
