Role summary

Google is seeking a remote Program Lead for its Data Center Construction team in Nevada, USA. This role involves managing complex, multi-disciplinary data center projects from concept through deployment. The Program Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineers, construction managers, and technical specialists to develop and implement solutions for hyper-scale data center construction. Responsibilities include managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and communicating updates to leadership. The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 8 years in program/project management, and 5 years of experience in data center infrastructure or related technical fields.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 5 years of experience with electrical, mechanical, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, networking/fiber, server equipment, systems, or infrastructure.
  • 5 years of experience with technical teams responsible for project management, engineering, and construction of data centers or facilities.
  • Ability to travel and be onsite 5 days a week as required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience with equipment/environments.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and an understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry.
  • Knowledge of fast-track design-build processes.
  • Knowledge of large-scale facility electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to gather requirements, organize resources, prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and achieve objectives within defined goals.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

You will contribute directly to the infrastructure that powers Google's products and services, used by billions of people worldwide. You will collaborate with engineers, construction managers, and technical specialists in a supportive environment and develop and implement creative solutions that address the challenges of building and operating hyper-scale data centers. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple data center projects from inception to completion, overseeing all phases, including concept development, design, construction, and deployment.
  • Gather and analyze internal requirements, translating them into effective solutions that meet the needs of our data center operations teams.
  • Work effectively within organization, collaborating with cross-functional partners, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex construction challenges, developing creative solutions that minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
