Job Brief

We are seeking a highly skilled
Azure Data Engineer
with strong hands-on experience in building scalable data pipelines and modern data platforms on Microsoft Azure.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising robust data solutions across cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Azure data services, Snowflake, and distributed data processing, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure data services.
• Develop and orchestrate ETL/ELT workflows using Matillion and Azure-native tools.
• Work with large-scale datasets across data lakes and data warehouses.
• Optimise Snowflake environments for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement batch and near-real-time data processing pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data integration and analytics requirements.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across pipelines and platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in production environments.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10+ years of experience in data engineering or related domains.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services including Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, and Synapse.
• Expertise in Snowflake including schema design, performance tuning, Snowpipe, Streams, and Tasks.
• Proficiency in Matillion for building and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong experience with Azure Databricks and distributed data processing using PySpark.
• Advanced programming skills in Python, along with strong SQL querying and optimisation capabilities.
• Solid understanding of data architecture including data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse models.
• Experience designing scalable data pipelines for batch and near real-time processing.
