We are currently looking for a Warehouse Manager to plan, organize, and lead the operations and activities of the warehouse department. The position will be responsible for associate safety, productivity, growth, and training. A great Warehouse Manager is a leader who leverages the strengths of the team, promotes safety and accountability, drives operational efficiency, and delivers accurate, timely results while supporting associate growth and development. You should have willingness to learn, improve and grow. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with a cross-functional team.
- Plan, organize, lead, and train warehouse associates on day-to-day processes, equipment, procedures, and rules and regulations, while achieving safety, and maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Supervise and participate in daily warehouse operations and activities including receipt, documentation, storage, shipping, etc.
- Maintain a safe working environment for all warehouse associates by enforcing adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
- Develop a collaborative work environment where all associates can feel comfortable asking questions and approaching others for problems resolution.
- Schedule warehouse activities to maximize receiving, put-away, inventory accuracy and order fulfillment to ensure completion in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ensure the team’s results are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- Negotiate vendor contracts to maximize profit.
- Provide leadership to all warehouse associates and hold them accountable to meet departmental and company goals.
- Lead training initiatives, including forklift and cross-training, for both new and tenured associates to improve them and their performance.
- Document performance issues initiatives and recommend the hiring and separation of warehouse associates.
- Recommend and actively participate in continuous improvement programs designed to improve departmental performance.
- Maintain positive working relationships and daily communications with other managers, supervisors, and team members. Work closely with supply chain, accounting, customer service, lamination, finishing, engineering, and quality.
- Ensure housekeeping and cleaning tasks are performed throughout the shift and during any downtime.
- Monitor and report appropriate departmental KPIs for receiving, put-away, inventory control, order fulfillment, labor, etc. to plan more efficient operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, or related degree.
- 5+ years’ experience in a warehouse leadership role.
- Capable of learning all departmental work tasks with the ability to train others on those tasks.
- Ability to work at a fast pace, be technically capable, organized, and results oriented.
- Must possess strong math skills and accurate use of a tape measure.
- Must be a team player with the ability to maintain a cooperative and respectful attitude.
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders across all departments.
- Excellent verbal communication, dispute resolution, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to participate in continuous learning courses to improve leadership skills.
- Intermediate computer skills required, including ERP system experience.
- Forklift experience required.
