Honeywell Engines & Power Systems is seeking a Senior Engineering Program Manager for the Military Fixed Wing (MFW) Engine Product Line. The manager will direct engineering activities, manage program costs, schedules, and technical aspects, and implement strategies for staffing, employee development, and succession planning. Responsibilities include applying root cause analysis to production and field issues, fostering innovation, and collaborating across various engineering and ISC functions to ensure program success and enhance engine producibility, performance, and durability. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline and 10+ years of aerospace experience, including 3+ years of technical team leadership.
Job Description
The Honeywell Engines & Power Systems Engine Propulsion team is looking for a Senior Engineering Program Manager for the Military Fixed Wing (MFW) Engine Product Line and its expected growth to lead, manage, develop and support an exceptional team of approximately 9 direct reports, with expectations of further team growth. The MFW engine product line supports the ITEC partnership and the F124, F125/TFE1042 engines that are deployed across the globe. A strong leader is needed to help support this engine product line for its current customers, and potential growth in the jet-trainer and collective combat applications.
Responsibilities
The Senior Engineering Program Manager for the MFW F124/F125 Product Line in Engines and Power Systems (E&PS) is responsible for the following:
- Directs all engineering activities and assures their compatibility with all customer requirements for production, Repair & Overhaul, development programs and new business.
- Establishes and executes a staffing and employee development strategy, including succession planning, staffing, census management, training, skill development and university relationships/hiring to accomplish program and functional goals.
- Works closely with the GBE / CBT on new product pursuits for F124/F125.
- Removes barriers to execution through broad cross-functional influence.
- Builds confidence and credibility to influence customers, suppliers, and internal Honeywell organizations and stakeholders.
- Manages high-level cost, schedule, and technical aspects of the program, including detailed program work scope, schedule, milestones, and budget.
- Applies Relentless Root Cause Analysis process & principals to investigate production & field issues, while looking in parallel for containment actions with the team.
- Focus on the overall health of the team.
- TRR/MRR/GSF planning and execution.
- Effectively communicates with all levels of the organization with little to no coaching.
- Responsible for direct leadership of direct reports at multiple sites where supporting teams may be located.
- Build collaborative internal and supplier partnerships to support production rate, by proactively working production issues, maintain pass-off margins per specifications, and support procurement & ISC initiatives related to resourcing and obsolescence.
- Accountable for leading all F124/F125 engine sustaining activities to enhance producibility, maintain performance margins, enhance durability / maintainability & reliability.
- Lead engineering activity on all F124/F125 new engine application pursuits.
- Apply Agile methodologies to project activities where it will add value.
- Build strong MOS with internal and external stakeholders to the benefit of the F124/F125product line
- Leverage organization practices of STRAP, AOP, MRR / TRR and MORs to ensure sustained and consistent practices are applied across the program.
- Build a culture of driving business driven innovation to create a strong pipeline of ideas aligned with E&PS technologies.
- Partner with design, analysis, ISC Engineering, systems, and project teams to drive flawless execution.
- Drive SRD, RMU, VE and CTO programs as applicable through the product development process for all design change activities
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in aerospace / engine product and technology design, development, certification and sustaining environment.
- 3+ years’ experience, leading technical teams.

The Engineering Program Manager for the MFW will work closely with the Senior Engineering Manager for current MFW / Unmanned Engine propulsion programs, but report directly to the Senior Director for Propulsion
