Who You Are

You’ll be our go-to HR leader, supporting a company in motion. If you’ve been through growth before, you know what’s coming—more people, more complexity, more “we’ve never done that before”—and you're energized by it, not overwhelmed. We’re looking for someone who can balance process with people, who’s comfortable setting direction but flexible enough to know when a good enough is just that.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all core HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and employee handbook to reflect company culture and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Own the hiring process by partnering with department leaders to improve job descriptions, streamline interview steps, and maintain a positive candidate experience.
  • Manage employee relations by providing guidance and support to employees and managers on conflict resolution, performance conversations, and coaching opportunities.
  • Support the leadership team with organizational planning, staffing strategies, and team development as we grow.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and systems, including personnel files, benefits data, and compliance documentation.
  • Oversee the annual review cycle, helping managers prepare thoughtful feedback and ensuring the process is smooth and timely.
  • Coordinate benefits and open enrollment, working with brokers or vendors to provide clarity and support to employees.
  • Create and run employee engagement efforts, such as surveys, recognition programs, and low-key culture events that fit who we are.
  • Serve as a point of contact for all HR-related inquiries, balancing confidentiality, consistency, and common sense.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a high-growth environment
  • SHRM-SCP is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR compliance (multi-state is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills (and a low tolerance for corporate jargon)
  • Experience with HRIS systems and tools (we’re open to your suggestions!)
  • The ability to hold boundaries and still be approachable

Compensation Transparency

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000. In addition to base pay, HV Health and Safety offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, continuing education support, and more. We believe in fair and transparent compensation and are happy to discuss specific details during the interview process.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
