We have a client that is looking to hire a Security Engineer in Tampa on a full-time/salaried basis

Location:
Tampa, FL (downtown)

Work environment:
Hybrid

Target salary:
$90K - $105K (potential for flexibility based on prior experience)

Experience

  • Served as the primary subject matter expert and final escalation point for complex security issues, reducing external vendor dependency and lowering resolution costs.
  • MSSP background strongly preferred; candidates with broad exposure across diverse security technologies and environments are highly competitive.
  • Over 2 years of hands‑on experience in incident detection, incident response, digital forensics, and performing comprehensive cybersecurity assessments.
  • Skilled in analyzing and administering Cloud, SaaS, networking, and security platforms, including MDR, next‑generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, SOAR, cloud security, endpoint protection, and vulnerability/penetration testing solutions.
  • Experienced with Azure cloud services (preferred), network infrastructure, firewalls, monitoring tools, countermeasures, Office 365 security, VMware, SIEM platforms, vulnerability management systems, ticketing tools, and endpoint security products.
  • Proficient in scripting and programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, Ruby, Node.js, Go, and PowerShell.
  • Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills and the ability to build trust and relationships with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Adept at prioritizing tasks, triaging cybersecurity incidents, and operating effectively under pressure in high‑demand environments.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
  • Well‑versed in current cybersecurity trends, threat actor tactics, and advanced hacking techniques, with experience operationalizing defensive measures at the enterprise level.
  • Familiar with regulatory frameworks and compliance standards such as HIPAA, PCI, and NIST 800 (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and enhance security controls to protect Concertium’s systems, data, and overall environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex security challenges across client and internal environments.
  • Respond to security incidents and system breaches, ensuring rapid containment and remediation.
  • Recommend, implement, and maintain appropriate security safeguards to protect both Concertium and client infrastructures.
  • Participate in change management and configuration management processes to ensure secure system evolution.
  • Conduct vulnerability testing, risk assessments, and system analysis to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
  • Perform daily administrative security tasks, generate reports, and collaborate with internal departments to maintain strong security posture.
  • Research emerging threats and vulnerabilities, developing strategies and countermeasures to mitigate risk.
  • Establish and maintain cybersecurity standards, best practices, and documentation for Concertium and its clients.
  • Use SIEM, SOAR, XDR, EDR, and other emerging security tools (such as ConnectWise, Security Onion, SentinelOne, Microsoft Sentinel, SureShield, CrowdStrike, and Duo) to monitor alerts and analyze security events across client environments.
  • Maintain strong expertise in cloud platforms, with emphasis on Microsoft Azure.
  • Continuously develop and expand cybersecurity skills to stay aligned with evolving threats and technologies.
