Role summary
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with hands-on experience in Snowflake, DBT, EDW, and Control M. The role requires strong expertise in writing complex PL/SQL queries and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies. Experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain is essential. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing ETL processes, providing production support in data warehousing, utilizing cloud environments (Azure, AWS), and managing code with Git/Azure DevOps. The engineer will also be involved in IT automation, batch scheduling, and mentoring junior team members. Weekend support may be required based on a roster.
Role Overview
- The associate should have good real-time hands-on experience with Snowflake, DBT, EDW, Control M
- Should have strong expertise in writing complex PL SQL queries
- Should be well versed with Agile delivery and Property & Casualty Insurance domain experience
- Ready to support weekends based on the roster
Key Accountabilities
- Deep understanding of the Snowflake cloud data platform – writing procedures, functions, UDFs, Snowflake window functions etc. (5+ years)
- Strong hands-on experience with DBT for modular SQL development, testing, and deployment (3+ years)
- Proficient in writing complex, efficient, and maintainable SQL queries
- Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS etc.) and data management technologies
- Proven ability to design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading processes
- Proven experience in production support in data warehousing
- Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance domain
- Proficiency in using Git / Azure DevOps for version control of code
- Experience with IT automation, batch scheduling using tools such as Control M and DevOps principles
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data-driven business objectives
- Mentor junior resources and share knowledge, work as a team to get requirements delivered
- Stay updated with the latest Snowflake features and best practices
- Nice to have skills: Python scripting
