Role summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Test Engineer for the Integrated Threat Warning Laboratory at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. This role involves the full lifecycle of testing for a custom, highly-automated hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) architecture, including test plan development, vendor collaboration, verification and validation (V&V), and integration of new capabilities. The engineer will execute tests, ensure the integrity of the testing infrastructure, and troubleshoot problems. Key requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, 5+ years of experience with at least 1 year in testing & integration, proficiency in C/C++, Matlab, and TCP/IP networking, and excellent debugging skills. An active DoD Secret clearance is also required.

Leidos is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support the Integrated Threat Warning Laboratory at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. As the Test Engineer, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of testing activities for a custom, highly-automated hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) architecture. This includes test plan development, vendor collaboration, verification and validation (V&V), and the integration of new capabilities. You will be responsible for not only executing tests but also ensuring the long-term integrity and advancement of the lab's testing infrastructure. It is important that the successful candidate have good debugging skills to troubleshoot problems that may arise during testing.
Primary Responsibilities (not a Complete List)

  • Set up and calibrate test equipment needed for each day of testing
  • Execute daily tests and troubleshoot any problems that arise
  • Documenting the test progress and keeping logs of completed tests
  • Develop, write, and execute comprehensive test plans
  • Lead the integration of new instrumentation and capabilities into the testbed
  • Collaborate with vendors to develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Managing and organizing large amounts of test data

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, with at least 1 year of experience in testing & integration
  • Experience programming in C and C++
  • Proficiency with Matlab®
  • Understanding of Ethernet TCP/IP and sockets (client/server protocol)
  • Strong communication skills to engage with multidiscipline teams
  • Excellent debugging skills
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with systems engineering principles and V&V processes
  • Experience with test plan development and technical writing
  • Experience with optical systems and radiometrics
  • Working knowledge of embedded systems

Pay Range
Pay Range $69,550.00 - $125,725.00
