
Senior Business Data Analyst
Role summary
The Senior Business Data Analyst will be responsible for leveraging data analysis and business intelligence skills to support financial systems management within a government context. This role requires extensive experience in developing interactive dashboards and executive-level reports using data visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or Qlik. The analyst will also develop and deploy automated tools using languages such as Python, R, or SQL to streamline financial reconciliation processes and enhance data integrity. A key aspect of the role involves identifying financial trends and anomalies within large federal datasets, and synthesizing data from Department of War (DoW) platforms for audit and leadership decision-making. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, along with the ability to communicate complex data insights to senior leadership.
Senior Business Data Analyst
It is required that the Senior Business Data Analyst has:
● Eight (8) or more years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or financial systems management, which includes the following:
o Five (5) or more years of experience specifically utilizing data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik) to develop interactive dashboards and executive-level reports.
o Demonstrated experience developing and deploying automated tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, UiPath, or "bots") to streamline manual financial reconciliation processes and increase data integrity.
o Experience identifying financial trends, anomalies, and areas for process efficiency within large federal datasets.
● Proficiency in utilizing Department of War (DoW) data platforms, to synthesize data for audit and leadership decision-making.
● Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
● Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical senior leadership.
It is desired that the Senior Business Data Analyst has:
● Master’s Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or Information Technology.
● Experience integrating financial audit data with operational metrics to create unified "quality dashboards" for organizational risk.
● Certifications in data analytics or process automation (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, or UiPath Certified Professional).
● Experience with the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and other DoW financial systems listed in the PWS (e.g., DDRS).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
