Role summary
Seeking a Founding Engineer to join a small, fast-paced startup in San Francisco. This role involves significant ownership across the codebase, from infrastructure to frontend development. You will work closely with co-founders and other engineers on challenging technical problems, including creating data streams from unstructured text, building preference learning systems, developing scalable messaging infrastructure, and integrating non-traditional sales channels. The tech stack includes Python, React (Typescript), Postgres, MongoDB, AWS, and LLM pipelines. The ideal candidate is a killer engineer excited about new technologies, building transformational tools, and working in a collaborative, in-person environment.
We’re hiring a third Founding Engineer! You’ll be team member #6, working closely with co-founders Joseph + Wilbur and our other Founding Engineers on the engineering team and you’ll have significant ownership over the parts of the product you want to cover. As an early engineer, you will be all over the codebase, from spinning up infra to placing pixels on the frontend. Some of the open technical problems that we could use your help with:
* Creating “non-traditional” data streams on companies and people / deriving useful structured data from unstructured text
* A system that learns preferences from sparse customer product interactions (overrides, upvotes/downvotes) and automatically iterates towards better messaging
* Building robust infrastructure for sending outbound messages that can scale to the level that our customers operate at (many thousands / day, 100k’s of LLM calls/day)
* Figuring out how our outreach engine can use non-traditional selling channels (SMS, direct mail) in addition to emails & phone calls to give our customers a competitive advantage
