Software Product Owner
Mobiltex is an IIoT company that enables our clients to remotely monitor critical assets using our industry leading data collection, transmission and analysis platforms. Corrosion specialists everywhere rely on us for our innovative solutions and superior customer support to maintain asset integrity. We’ve been leading the way in cathodic monitoring and data analysis through thousands of miles of pipelines in North America and continue to expand our market presence within the industry.
The Opportunity
As a Software Product Owner, you will guide one of Mobiltex’s next-generation software products from concept through continuous delivery. Partnering with product management, architecture, and Agile development teams, you will translate market problems into clear backlog items, set sprint priorities, and ensure every release delivers customer and business value.
What you’ll do
Champion the customer: Gather market insights, interview users, and validate solutions to ensure the team builds the right product.
Turn vision into work: Decompose roadmap initiatives into epics, features, and user stories with detailed acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements (performance, security, usability).
Own the backlog: Continuously refine and prioritize work, balancing new functionality with technical-debt reduction and platform reliability.
Lead Agile ceremonies: Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives; accept completed work and adjust priorities as feedback emerges.
Establish feedback loops: Launch lightweight programs (e.g., NPS-style surveys, usage analytics) to capture user sentiment and guide iterative improvements.
Communicate with transparency: Provide concise status, roadmap, and KPI updates that align engineering, operations, sales, and leadership.
Stay market aware: Track competitors, industry trends, and emerging technologies in IIoT and cloud to keep the product differentiated and future ready.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
5+ years in a Product Owner or similar product-leadership role delivering commercial software in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Demonstrated skill in writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and guiding cross-functional teams to successful releases.
Strong stakeholder-management, facilitation, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to convey complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
Working knowledge of cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, and modern analytics tools.
Bonus – Exposure to cathodic protection, industrial IoT, or infrastructure-monitoring domains.
