Role summary

This position is responsible for managing a team of pre-registration and eligibility staff to ensure accurate registration and resolve issues prior to patient visits. The role involves analyzing data to identify and address gaps in front desk, application, and customer service processes, collaborating with IT to optimize the Practice Management application workflow, and monitoring collections to minimize denials and maximize revenue. Additionally, the manager will oversee the Central Template Team responsible for physician scheduling across multiple locations.

Job Summary
This position will be responsible for a team of pre-registration and eligibility staff members who will review and resolve all registration activity in advance of a visit, resolve any edits and act as a pre-engagement unit for the Montefiore Medical Group & School Health Centers. The Manager will also evaluate and analyze data to assess gaps in front desk, application and customer service activity leading to failures in the registration process, will work with the training team to enhance end user performance outside of the unit, will work with the application/IT teams to enhance the Practice Management application workflow and will monitor collection and write off activity to reduce the number of denials and increase patient care revenue/cash collections.
This position is also responsible to guide and direct the oversight of the Central Template Team manager. This unit is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the physician scheduling templates across all 23 MMG locations.
Qualifications

  • Associates Degree Required - Bachelors Preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience in health care operations or revenue cycle in an academic medical center or large Medical Group environment Required
  • Thorough understanding of insurance, eligibility, HIPAA electronic data transaction sets (270/271) and submission standards, insurance contracts and the impact of registration and eligibility on the entire revenue cycle Required.
  • Able to evaluate and analyze data and should be proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Power Point and Visio - Required.
  • Knowledge of Practice Management applications, preferably EPIC.
