Role summary
This position is responsible for managing a team of pre-registration and eligibility staff, reviewing and resolving registration activities, and acting as a pre-engagement unit for Montefiore Medical Group & School Health Centers. The Manager will analyze data to identify gaps in the registration process, collaborate with training and IT teams to improve performance and application workflows, and monitor financial activities to reduce denials and increase revenue. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the Central Template Team manager responsible for physician scheduling templates across 23 MMG locations.

Job Summary
This position will be responsible for a team of pre-registration and eligibility staff members who will review and resolve all registration activity in advance of a visit, resolve any edits and act as a pre-engagement unit for the Montefiore Medical Group & School Health Centers. The Manager will also evaluate and analyze data to assess gaps in front desk, application and customer service activity leading to failures in the registration process, will work with the training team to enhance end user performance outside of the unit, will work with the application/IT teams to enhance the Practice Management application workflow and will monitor collection and write off activity to reduce the number of denials and increase patient care revenue/cash collections.
This position is also responsible to guide and direct the oversight of the Central Template Team manager. This unit is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the physician scheduling templates across all 23 MMG locations.
Qualifications :
- Associates Degree Required - Bachelors Preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience in health care operations or revenue cycle in an academic medical center or large Medical Group environment Required
- Thorough understanding of insurance, eligibility, HIPAA electronic data transaction sets (270/271) and submission standards, insurance contracts and the impact of registration and eligibility on the entire revenue cycle Required.
- Able to evaluate and analyze data and should be proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Power Point and Visio - Required.
- Knowledge of Practice Management applications, preferably EPIC.
