Job Description

The Innovation Research Lead – Emerging Technology will help DXT prepare for the future by scanning the technology landscape, identifying and interpreting trends, and translating signals into actionable insights. These insights will directly shape DXT’s emerging technology strategy and the future relevance of DX. This role maintains a network of internal and external information sources, supports the evaluation of vendors and strategic partners, and influences decision-making in new technological spaces.

The ideal candidate excels at connecting the dots across industries and technologies, and at communicating insights to executive audiences. An entrepreneurial mindset with a high tolerance for ambiguity and a proven track record of identifying technology trends before they become mainstream are key attributes.

Research and Foresight Advisory

• Provide rapid-response briefings on market perceptions, competitive landscape shifts, and potential DX blind spots.
• Assess startups, vendors, and innovations for strategic fit and opportunity.
• Maintain an innovation knowledge repository and foresight inputs.

Partnerships

• Partner with product and engineering teams to embed foresight and research into their opportunity areas.
• Help identify and evaluate new opportunities for exploration to ensure DX maintains future relevance.
• Monitor developments from both internal and external sources.

Strategic Messaging and Narrative Development

• Collaborate closely with leadership to translate opportunities and technical capabilities into compelling, evidence-based messaging—examples include newsletters, research briefs, and product strategies.

Ideation Facilitation

• Partner with the Business Development Lead to inform design thinking and ideation on new areas of opportunity through guided brainstorming and discussion sessions with partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience communicating complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Smartsheet, Confluence)
• Strong familiarity with Artificial Intelligence or related areas, with a proven ability to interpret emerging technologies
• Experience with or understanding of the R&D environment

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of study, or equivalent experience
