About The Role
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervisor Technical Support Manager to join the Facility Maintenance (FM) team. This pivotal role involves overseeing electrical work performed by craft Electricians, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency across the laboratory. The successful candidate will supervise, mentor, and develop both non-exempt and represented personnel within the FM subdivision, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders and customers across the laboratory to coordinate and execute electrical tasks in a timely manner, adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. As a key member of the team, the supervisor will also play an active role in emergency response activities and contribute to the ongoing training programs within the FM subdivision, ensuring readiness and compliance with all safety protocols.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant technical qualifications. Preferred skills include current or previous certifications as an Electrical Worker, LOTO Supervisor, Asbestos Competent Person, and Asbestos Building Inspector. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical systems, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance. Prior experience in a supervisory role within a nuclear or highly regulated environment is highly desirable. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a comprehensive federal background investigation, drug testing, and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and oversee the electrical work performed by craft Electricians, ensuring compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Mentor, develop, and evaluate personnel within the Facility Maintenance subdivision, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and clients across the laboratory to plan, schedule, and execute electrical tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain a meaningful emergency response role, participating actively in safety drills, incident investigations, and response activities.
- Drive and contribute to the FM subdivision’s training programs, including little-t training initiatives, to enhance team capabilities and knowledge.
- Ensure all electrical work aligns with project specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Manage work documentation, reports, and compliance records in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Promote a safety-first culture by enforcing safety policies, conducting inspections, and addressing safety concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments and external vendors to ensure seamless operations and project delivery.
