About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervisor Technical Support Manager to join our Facility Maintenance (FM) team. This pivotal role involves overseeing electrical work performed by craft Electricians, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The Supervisor will be responsible for supervising, mentoring, and developing both non-exempt and represented personnel within the FM subdivision, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Supervisor will work closely with stakeholders and customers across the laboratory to coordinate and execute electrical tasks in a timely manner. The position demands active participation in emergency response activities and contributions to the FM subdivision’s training programs, including the little-t training initiative. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of the laboratory’s electrical systems, supporting the broader mission of the Naval Nuclear Laboratory.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred qualifications including current or previous certifications as an Electrical Worker, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) Supervisor, Asbestos Competent Person, and Asbestos Building Inspector. Candidates should demonstrate a strong foundation in electrical systems, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures. Experience in supervising technical personnel, mentoring team members, and coordinating complex projects is highly desirable. Knowledge of nuclear safety standards and familiarity with laboratory environments will be considered advantageous. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible for security clearance, with the ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening, in accordance with FMP policies and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and oversee electrical work performed by craft Electricians, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Mentor and develop technical personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and customers across the laboratory to plan, prioritize, and execute electrical maintenance and project tasks.
- Maintain active participation in emergency response activities, ensuring readiness and compliance with safety protocols.
- Drive and contribute to the Facility Maintenance subdivision’s training programs, including the little-t training initiative.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and asbestos management protocols.
- Assist in planning and scheduling electrical maintenance activities, optimizing resource allocation and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, inspections, and safety compliance records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, safety standards, and operational reliability.
