Senior Fullstack Engineer

Our client is building AI agents for customs brokers and the broader logistics industry, a $10T market still running on manual, document-heavy workflows. Their AI automatically tracks regulation updates (including Chapter 99), drafts customs entries, and integrates directly with existing broker systems (Gmail, Microsoft Teams, Slack, CargoWise, Descartes), cutting clearance times to under 5 minutes and delivering 3x throughput per entry writer. Backed by First Round Capital and Pear VC ($5M raised), Amari has achieved clear PMF with 30+ customers, >100% MoM revenue growth, and 30,000+ hours returned to brokerage teams. The team comes from Google, LinkedIn, and Salesforce.

The Role: We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer/Fullstack who thrives at the intersection of high-velocity execution and complex systems design. As we scale, you will own the evolution of our AI-driven platform, turning messy logistics workflows into crisp, high-performance product experiences. This is a high-leverage technical leadership role; you won't just ship features, you'll define the architectural standards that allow the team to move faster as we grow.

What You'll Do

• Architect and lead the migration of our frontend architecture to support real-time, data-heavy dashboards using TypeScript, React, and Tailwind CSS
• Build human-in-the-loop AI interfaces that make AI outputs and automated workflows transparent, explainable, and easy for operations teams to manage
• Take full ownership of the product lifecycle, from technical discovery and scoping to production monitoring, maintaining a high ship rate without sacrificing reliability
• Define the technical vision, mentor new hires, and foster an elite engineering culture
• Tackle the edge cases of global trade, ensuring core services maintain high uptime while handling unpredictable real-world document inputs
• Collaborate directly with founders on product direction and technical roadmap

Must Have

• 6–8+ years of professional software engineering experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments
• Deep proficiency in TypeScript and React, with the ability to architect complex state management for data-intensive applications
• Strong command of Python for backend services
• Advanced SQL (PostgreSQL), schema design, indexing, query optimization
• Proven startup experience at a real company (10+ people), you've shipped in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
• Bias for action, you write crisp requirements, drive cross-functional delivery, and prefer shipping over over-engineering
• Self-starter mentality, you own outcomes end-to-end and don't need to be managed
• Based in SF or committed to relocating (in-person, non-negotiable)

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating AI APIs or building complex document extraction workflows
• Familiarity with logistics, customs, supply chain, or other regulated industry software
• Background at a high-growth Series A/B startup or as a founding engineer
• Exposure to enterprise software requirements, security, data retention, privacy, and compliance
• Experience with real-time systems and high-uptime production environments
• Top 50 university background (soft preference — strong track record always wins)
• GitHub activity, open source contributions, or side projects (soft signal only)

Compensation & Perks

• Base salary: $170,000–$260,000
• Equity: 0.2–0.5%
