Role summary

We are seeking a Principal SRE to accelerate the adoption of a modern Observe-based platform, focusing on customer-journey observability. The role involves building and terraforming dashboards for a 360-degree view of complex systems, instrumenting projects with OTEL, New Relic, and APM agents, and ensuring end-to-end traceability across microservices. You will also write complex queries to analyze API success rates, latency, and session data. A strong SRE background with expertise in AWS (ECS, Fargate, Lambda) and Python or Java is required, along with experience in New Relic or Splunk.

Locals Preferred You will accelerate the adoption of a modern Observe-based platform, focusing on customer-journey observability. You will build and terraform dashboards to provide a 360-degree view of complex system environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dashboard Development (80%): Build dashboards and widgets in the Observe tool, manage schemas, and utilize terraforming for environment consistency.
  • Instrumentation: Navigate and instrument existing projects using OTEL, New Relic, and APM agents.
  • System Traceability: Collaborate with teams to identify and bridge data gaps, ensuring E2E traceability across microservices.
  • Data Fluency: Write complex queries to aggregate API success rates, latency, and session data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Mandatory: 4 6 months of hands-on experience with the Observe tool.
  • Strong SRE background with a focus on design architecture and data instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in AWS (ECS, Fargate, Lambda) and either Python or Java.
  • Ability to read/decode code for instrumentation purposes (Small coding task required during interview).
  • Experience with New Relic or Splunk for enterprise observability.
