Role summary

Panorama Education is seeking a Product Manager, Platform to shape and evolve the foundational capabilities of their K-12 student insight and action platform. This role focuses on building and improving shared platform services to enhance speed, scalability, and reliability for product teams. The Product Manager will define the platform roadmap, collaborate with engineering, SRE, data, security, and legal teams, and ensure platform investments support product vision, operational health, and company strategy. Key responsibilities include driving platform strategy, enabling product teams, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining security and compliance. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of product management experience with a focus on infrastructure or platform services, strong technical understanding, and experience with security and compliance frameworks.

About the Role

The Product Manager for Platform will play a critical role in shaping and evolving the foundational capabilities that power Panorama's products. This role focuses on building and improving shared platform services that enable product teams to move faster, scale reliably, and deliver high-quality experiences to educators and students.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will partner closely with engineering, SRE, data, security, and legal teams to define and execute a platform strategy that balances reliability, scalability, performance, and developer experience. Security and compliance will be an important part of this work, but the primary focus is on creating a strong, cohesive platform that supports Panorama's long-term product vision.

In this role, you will prioritize high-impact initiatives that improve how teams build, operate, and scale on Panorama's platform, while ensuring we meet our trust and safety obligations as a company serving schools and students.

Responsibilities

Platform Strategy and Roadmap

Define and manage the product roadmap for Panorama's platform capabilities, including shared services, foundational infrastructure, and internal tooling. Partner with engineering and SRE to deliver scalable, reliable systems that support product development and business growth.

Enable Product Teams

Work closely with product and engineering teams across the organization to understand friction points and opportunities where platform investments can unlock speed, quality, and consistency.
Ensure platform solutions are intuitive, well-documented, and broadly adopted.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with engineering, SRE, data, and security teams to embed reliability, performance, and security into platform design. Coordinate across teams to align priorities and ensure platform work supports both near-term product needs and long-term architecture.

Operational Excellence and Scale

Champion initiatives that improve platform performance, resiliency, and cost effectiveness. Balance short-term improvements with longer-term investments that strengthen Panorama's technical foundation.

Security and Risk Awareness

Collaborate with security and legal partners to ensure platform capabilities support Panorama's security, privacy, and compliance requirements. Help prioritize platform investments that reduce risk and strengthen trust without slowing innovation.

Stakeholder and Executive Communication

Communicate platform priorities, progress, and tradeoffs to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Provide clear context on how platform investments support product outcomes, operational health, and company strategy.

Requirements

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

3+ years of product management experience,
with a focus on infrastructure, security, or platform services in a technology-driven organization. Previous experience as a software engineer is a plus.

Technical Background:
Ability to understand complex technical concepts and make informed decisions about infrastructure and security investments. Experience working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS is a plus.

Proven success in working with cross-functional teams,
working closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and secure products.

Exceptional Communication Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.

Experience with security and compliance frameworks,
such as SOC 2, GDPR, and FERPA, and a strong understanding of best practices in cybersecurity and data protection.

Strong Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze data to prioritize and make informed product decisions. Experience with monitoring and observability tools is a plus.

Collaborative Leadership:
Proven ability to lead through influence and foster a culture of shared success across technical and business teams.

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

The "Base Salary" range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position across all US locations. Determining this anticipated Base Salary range involves considering many factors in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: unique skill sets, experience, training, performance, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, our anticipated Base Salary determination is just one component of Panorama's competitive total rewards strategy, including annual bonus or commission awards, equity awards, and other region-specific health and welfare benefits.

Salary Range $122,447 - $180,069
