Precision Process and control is an engineering firm that specializes within the Food and Beverage industry. We provide consulting, process development, project management, and sanitary installation services. Along with the above services, PP&C specializes in the development and execution of Controls and Automation related projects including PLC and HMI development, control panel design and build, as well as onsite IO checkout and commissioning.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Automation Engineer located in Chanhassen, MN. As a part of the Controls and Automation team this roll will be responsible for the development of HMI and PLC related project tasks.

Responsibilities

• Participate and be responsible for automation engineering handover including system programing, plant automation archiving, technical files preparation.
• Automation in-house engineering including automation project specification, hardware configuration, functional description, and programming.
• Electrical installation guidance & testing, confirmation of process with process engineer, online commissioning (mainly Rockwell, Siemens and Wonderware), verification of process upgrade with customer, project files updating.
• Automation emergency response including emergency failure analysis, remote guidance or connection support, on-site troubleshooting.
• Automation database system maintenance and upgrading.
• Plant automation performance investigation and optimization.
• Follow both technical (software and hardware) and architecture in Food industry area.
• Provide technical support and training to customer.
• Provide Remote support to customers in a 24x7 support roll.
• Provide sales support to technical sales and account managers through the entire sales process (understand customer needs, create solution, convey the value).
• Document service activities and update customer data, including equipment and contracts.
• Carry out customer visits in conjunction with technical issues, assisting the local account managers and Service Manager.
• Travel for this position will be required

Skills

• experience with Rockwell PLC programming (ControlLogix, Safety PLC, FTTM) as well as experience working with Wonderware SCADA products (Wonderware System Platform, ModernApp, Wonderware Historian, InBatch).
• Knowledge and implementation experience of electrical engineering. automation SCADA design, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Good prioritizing and planning skill.
• High awareness of Health & Safety.
• Experience in the food and beverage Engineering & Manufacturing industry is must.
• Process engineering knowledge (able to interpret P&ID’s, Process documents)
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Troubleshooting and Process Control skills
• 2-5 years working in related field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
