Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for an
HR Data Analyst
with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay:
$42.00 - $47.00/hr
; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
Description:
We are seeking an HR Data Analyst to join our HR Technology and Analytics team. This role serves as a critical liaison between HR business partners and IT, supporting HR data security, workforce data management, and enterprise HR reporting. The ideal candidate will be analytical, process-oriented, and capable of working with complex HR data systems.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and triage incoming data requests through Service Hub tool from across the enterprise
  • Route requests to appropriate team members and fulfill data requests as needed
  • Conduct daily tie-outs between Workday and the Workforce Data Hub to ensure data accuracy
  • Investigate data discrepancies and ask clarifying questions (never assume)
  • Support security audits for HR data access and permissions
  • Write test scripts for system testing and enter transactions for testing purposes
  • Support HR data integration from multiple systems (Workday, FieldGlass, MyTime, etc.)
  • Assist with enterprise HR reporting needs
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across HR systems

Required Skills & Experience

  • Critical thinking and logical reasoning abilities
  • Process-oriented mindset with attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required)
  • Experience with HR data analysis and workforce management data
  • Ability to take direction and ask appropriate questions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • SQL experience
  • Workday knowledge
  • SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
  • Business Objects
  • Power BI
  • Data analysis tools and reporting platforms

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) or Associate's degree in any field. Technical degree not required—candidates from diverse educational backgrounds (including law, business, etc.) are encouraged to apply if they demonstrate strong analytical thinking.

Experience Level

  • Open to candidates at various career stages—from early career/recent graduates to experienced professionals or second-career individuals.
  • The team currently includes members ranging from recent college graduates to professionals with decades of experience.

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Location: Charlotte, NC
  • Work Schedule: Hybrid preferred (virtual considered)
  • In-Office Days: Wednesday and Thursday required, plus one optional day
  • Hybrid candidates will be prioritized

Assignment Details

  • Duration: Minimum 1 year with possibility for extension
