Quality Assurance Engineer
Role summary
We are seeking a founding Quality Assurance Engineer to establish and lead the QA function within a new securitisation technology practice. This role involves defining quality standards, building test infrastructure, and fostering a QA culture from the ground up. You will own comprehensive test strategies, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing, and validate data accuracy for structured finance products. The position requires proficiency in test automation frameworks, strong SQL skills, and experience with CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with financial services domains and AI-assisted testing is preferred. This is an opportunity to shape quality processes and influence the development lifecycle in a fast-paced financial technology environment.
The Opportunity
We are building something from the ground up — and we need the right person to help shape it. As a
founding member of a newly established QA team
within a growing securitisation technology practice, you won't be stepping into a pre-built function. You'll own quality from day one: defining standards, building test infrastructure, and establishing the QA culture for a team that will scale around you.
If you thrive in environments where your judgment shapes how quality is defined — not just measured — this role is built for you.
What You'll Do
- Design and own comprehensive test strategies for a securitisation technology platform, covering functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
- Validate data accuracy, calculation logic, and reporting outputs for securitised and structured finance products
- Build and maintain automated test suites, contributing to the long-term automation infrastructure of the QTS team
- Partner closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle
- Contribute to — and help establish — QA processes, standards, and best practices for a team being built from the ground up
- Leverage AI-assisted testing tools and modern QA methodologies to drive efficiency and coverage
- Communicate test findings, risks, and quality metrics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
What You Bring
Experience & Domain
- 3–7 years of QA experience, with a strong preference for financial services, capital markets, or structured finance environments
- Familiarity with securitisation, fixed income, or structured finance products is a
significant asset
— you don't need to be a quant, but you should be comfortable learning the domain deeply
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-moving, high-stakes financial technology environments
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Pytest, Cypress or equivalent)
- Strong SQL skills for data validation, backend verification, and test data management
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools or a genuine curiosity about applying AI to QA workflows
Leadership & Soft Skills
- A natural collaborator who can influence without authority and build relationships across development, product, and business teams
- Clear, confident communicator — able to translate complex quality findings into plain language for senior stakeholders
- Self-directed and ownership-oriented: you see gaps and fill them without being asked
- Mentorship instinct — someone who raises the quality bar for those around them, not just the product
