Product Manager
Role summary
Quectel USA is seeking a Product Manager to oversee their smart SoC product line throughout its lifecycle. This role involves collaborating with sales, HQ, and partners to drive product evaluation, development, launch, and commercial success for North American customers. Responsibilities include market analysis, defining product requirements, managing the product lifecycle from development to EOL, and representing Quectel as a subject matter expert. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, 3-5 years of hardware/software development experience, and 3+ years of product/project management experience, with a strong understanding of SoC platforms and SoC-based devices.
Role Overview
The Smart SoC Product Manager will be a key member of Quectel USA’s technical team, responsible for promoting and managing Quectel’s smart SoC product line throughout its entire lifecycle. Working alongside local sales teams, distributors, HQ product teams, and ecosystem partners, this individual will drive the evaluation, development, launch, and commercial success of SoC-based solutions for North American customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams and distributors to promote smart SoC products and drive sales growth
- Engage with HQ and cross-functional teams to evaluate customer project requirements and deliver technical proposals to win design-in opportunities
- Manage the full product lifecycle: evaluation, project initialization, development, NPI, mass production, to EOL planning
- Deliver product training to local sales teams and distributor partners
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify trends, collect customer insights, and define new product requirements
- Monitor performance and cost competitiveness of current products; provide inputs for roadmap and strategy planning
- Support major customer accounts and strategic projects in collaboration with sales and technical teams
- Build and maintain relationships with ecosystem and ODM partners
- Represent Quectel at customer meetings, trade shows, and conferences as a subject matter expert
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Electronics, Computer Science, or related fields
- 3–5 years of experience in hardware/software development; 3+ years of product/project management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of SoC platforms (Qualcomm, MediaTek, NXP, Nvidia, Rockchip, TI, Broadcom, etc.)
- Experience with SoC-based devices: smartphones, tablets, SBCs, IoT communication products
- Familiarity with Android, Linux, or Ubuntu operating systems
- Strong analytical skills and ability to define product requirements and market strategies
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel within the USA and Canada as needed
Preferred
- Experience with Quectel or comparable IoT module products
- Familiarity with cellular technologies (5G / 4G LTE / NB-IoT / Cat-M)
- Track record of cross-cultural collaboration with international engineering teams
- Experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, protocol analyzers)
