Role summary

RER is seeking an experienced Utilities Superintendent/Project Manager for their Houston or San Antonio operations. This role is responsible for overseeing utility construction projects, ensuring they meet client specifications and progress according to plan. The Superintendent will coordinate daily activities of workers, subcontractors, and vendors, manage schedules, costs, and safety protocols. Key duties include onsite supervision, client communication, documentation, safety leadership, and project close-out tasks. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in utility projects, strong people and project management skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software like Procore.

Job Profile
We are looking for an experienced Utilities Superintendent. Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that the project progresses according to plan and Owner specifications, in conjunction with the clients Project Manager, Engineer and various clients representatives. They supervise and coordinate the daily activities of construction workers, subcontractors and vendors. Superintendent lead every step of the way.

Job Duties

  • Onsite during all work activities, using experience, research and networking with other team members to ensure the job meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Maintain communication, from holding weekly subcontractor meetings, to communicating change orders, schedule, and back charges with the clients Project Manager, and addressing problematic subcontractors early to improve the desired outcome.
  • Creation and adherence to a well-planned 4-week look-ahead schedule, while also ensuring quality with tasks like maintaining a quality deficiency list
  • Help the job stay on budget, by effectively managing cost expenditures and maintaining logs
  • Champion job-site safety by leading pre-task safety meetings with subcontractors, posting required notices, preparing reports, maintaining MSDS information, and documenting safety warnings
  • Documentation in key areas such as descriptive and accurate daily construction reports, T&M issues, RFI’s, and project photography
  • Storm Water Prevention plan notification and adherence
  • Close-out duties such as project turnover matrix, maintaining as-built documents, developing and completing punch-lists

Qualifications

  • People skill and project management skills and abilities. Must have 5 years Experience on various stormwater line, waterline, sewer, storm drain utility projects.
  • Must have had experience with pipe installation from approved plans, planning, procuring materials, coordinating staff, working with owner representatives, and implementing a safe workplace.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project), and experience with (or ability to learn) Procore, office equipment and Internet Explorer or other similar Internet tools and experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
