At Reset Energy, we're building the next generation of process and pressure vessel systems for the energy industry — and we need a sharp, experienced Mechanical Design Lead to help shape how we do it. This is a high-impact role where your fingerprints will be on our products, proposals, and engineering standards from day one.

What you'll do

Design leadership & standards

  • Serve as a technical expert on skid, equipment, and piping design
  • Guide engineering design across products, proposals, active projects, and warranty work
  • Advise engineering teams on applicable codes and client specifications — including ASME VIII, ASME B31.3, OSHA, and API standards
  • Support proposal development with preliminary design work and design hour estimates
  • Oversee outsourced structural engineering work; review vendor data and drawings for spec compliance

Process & documentation

  • Generate Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
  • Coordinate with engineering and operations to develop initial P&IDs, incorporate redlines and revisions, and produce an Issued for Construction (IFC) set
  • Generate General Arrangement (GA) drawings
  • Generate IFC skid isometrics and off-skid bridles for fabricator use
  • Review and interpret complex P&IDs, vessel and structural piping drawings, isometrics, and bills of materials

3D modeling & detailed design

  • Design and model skid layouts, including structural skid design
  • Generate and model equipment, including nozzle sizes and orientations
  • Model large and small bore pipe routing; generate pipe and structural BOMs for fabricators
  • Model control valves (with actuators), instrument models, equipment bridles, and on-skid pipe supports
  • Design on-skid electrical and instrumentation panels and junction boxes
  • Perform equipment checks and back-checks throughout the modeling process
  • Create and review facility layouts; participate in and lead 3D model reviews and project meetings

Team & project coordination

  • Review and lead the work of the design team, ensuring accuracy and conformance with client, industry, and safety standards
  • Monitor design progress to keep projects on budget and on schedule
  • Collaborate cross-discipline with engineering, operations, and fabricators throughout the project life cycle to ensure delivered equipment packages are of exceptional quality and exceed customer expectations
  • Produce report data from models and deliver required design information to project, client, and third-party stakeholders

What you bring

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of mechanical design experience,
*or*
10+ years of hands-on experience in lieu of a degree
- Deep knowledge of energy industry equipment design, piping, materials, and standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and CADWorx; AVEVA PDMS/E3D experience is a strong plus
- Experience with vessel calculation software such as PVElite or Compress
- Must be authorized to work in the United States — sponsorship is not available for this role
