
Chief Technology Officer
Role summary
DeepSeas is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to define and execute its technology vision and strategy within the cybersecurity market. This senior executive role will lead engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and security initiatives, ensuring scalable, secure, and innovative solutions. The CTO will partner with executive leadership, oversee technical standards, drive innovation, and manage the technology budget. Key responsibilities include building and mentoring high-performing teams, managing vendor relationships, and communicating complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, a strong background in cloud-native, SaaS, and cybersecurity platforms, and demonstrated ability to align technology with business objectives.
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a senior executive responsible for defining and executing DeepSeas’ technology vision and strategy in alignment with business objectives and long-term growth. The CTO leads engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and security initiatives to ensure the company delivers scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that differentiate DeepSeas in the cybersecurity market. This role balances strategic leadership with hands-on technical oversight, ensuring operational excellence, rapid innovation, and disciplined execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Defines and owns the company-wide technology strategy and roadmap aligned with DeepSeas’ business goals, product vision, and customer needs
- Leads all engineering, platform, infrastructure, and technology operations, ensuring reliability, scalability, performance, and security of products and internal systems
- Partners closely with the CEO, CFO, CPO, and other executive leaders to translate business strategy into executable technology initiatives
- Oversees architecture decisions and establishes technical standards, development practices, and governance to support long-term scalability and maintainability
- Drives innovation across products and platforms, evaluating emerging technologies and cybersecurity trends to maintain competitive advantage
- Ensures security-by-design principles across all systems, products, and internal operations, aligned with industry best practices and regulatory expectations
- Builds, leads, and mentors high-performing engineering and technology teams; establishes a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Develops and manages the technology budget in partnership with Finance, balancing investment, risk, and return
- Owns vendor and partner strategy related to technology, including selection, contract negotiation, and performance management
- Establishes KPIs and metrics to measure technology effectiveness, delivery velocity, system health, and business impact
- Works closely with Product and Go-To-Market teams to ensure technology capabilities support roadmap commitments and customer outcomes
- Communicates complex technical concepts clearly to executive leadership, board members, customers, and other non-technical stakeholders
- Some travel required
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred
- 15+ years of progressive technology and engineering leadership experience, including senior leadership roles
- Proven experience leading cloud-native, SaaS, and/or cybersecurity platforms at scale
- Strong background in modern software architecture, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, data platforms, and security engineering
- Demonstrated ability to align technology strategy with business and financial objectives
- Experience building and leading geographically distributed teams
- Strong financial acumen, including experience planning and managing large-scale budgets
- Track record of successfully delivering complex technology initiatives in fast-paced environments
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to make pragmatic trade-offs, prioritize effectively, and drive execution without sacrificing quality or security
- Passion for continuous learning and staying current with technology and cybersecurity trends
