Role summary
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer to join their global team. This role involves applying engineering principles to software testing, troubleshooting product issues, and implementing procedures for reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, with 1 year of experience in PLC and Human Machine Interface programming. Preferred candidates will have 1-3 years of experience with controls, electrical, and mechanical systems, and knowledge of turbo-machinery products. This is an onsite, full-time position requiring strong problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills.

Able to apply engineering principles and theories and a working knowledge of a variety of other engineering disciplines. Has an in-depth knowledge of most of the Company's product lines and project planning and coordination skills to execute software testing.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participates in the troubleshooting and correction of all product/project issues discovered during testing, providing documentation and feedback on these issues to the appropriate internal organizations.
- Implements engineering procedures to make the product or process more reliable, efficient and cost-effective understanding functional requirements and translating into detail design documents.
What You Need To Have:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related degree or equivalent experience testing Solar Turbines package control systems.
Technical Excellence:
- 1 year of experience programming PLC and Human Machine Interfaces
- This individual should possess a fundamental knowledge of gas turbine theory and a thorough understanding of standard engineering principles.
Top Candidates Will Have:
Technical Excellence:
- 1-3 years involving controls using PLC and Human Machine Interfaces, electrical and mechanical systems
- Knowledge of the design, manufacturing, and operation of turbo-machinery products preferable.
Managing Multiple Priorities:
- Self starter, willing to work as required to support production schedules, and be able to perform the position functions with minimal supervision and guidance, as well as part of a team
- Multi-tasking skills balanced with the ability to pay attention to detail
- Highly motivated by the prospect of solving challenging engineering problems
- Excellent communication and the ability to maintain liaison with engineering and manufacturing groups, as well as project management and customers

Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
