The ideal candidate has 8+ years of postgraduate experience, proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX), extensive experience with scalable ML systems and MLOps practices, and a deep understanding of the ML lifecycle. Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and financial domains is desirable.

About The Role
SandboxAQ’s AI Generation Engine (SAIGE) team is seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of machine learning models, from initial data exploration to scalable deployment. This role is pivotal in rapidly designing, prototyping, and validating AI-first SaaS products that utilize SandboxAQ’s cutting-edge Large Quantitative Models and emerging agentic frameworks. As a core member of the team, you will be responsible for owning end-to-end model development, ensuring that models are robust, efficient, and production-ready. You will collaborate closely with AI researchers, software engineers, product managers, and UX researchers to translate high-level business objectives into tangible AI solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of research and production, contributing to innovative products that have a meaningful global impact.
Qualifications
- BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 8+ years of postgraduate experience in software development
- Proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, NumPy, Pandas
- Extensive experience developing scalable, high-performance ML systems and data pipelines
- Deep understanding of the entire ML lifecycle from data exploration to deployment
- Strong knowledge of MLOps practices, including CI/CD, experiment tracking, automated testing, and version control
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS is highly desirable
- MS or PhD in a related discipline is preferred for advanced roles
- Experience with financial simulation, risk modeling, or related technical domains is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for training, validation, and continuous retraining of Large Quantitative Models and agentic frameworks
- Develop, implement, and rigorously test novel ML models and algorithms, defining clear metrics to evaluate performance against product goals
- Perform data cleaning, feature engineering, and transformation to optimize model accuracy and efficiency
- Analyze model behavior, performance, and failure modes; fine-tune hyperparameters and optimize architectures for production deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical ML solutions and deployment strategies
- Ensure high standards of code quality, system security, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced prototyping environment
- Drive technical decision-making independently, taking ownership of model development and deployment processes
