About The Role
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating data from multiple sources into cohesive data domain models to support our analytics and business intelligence efforts. The Data Engineer will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and models that drive insights into the global job market. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure data quality, reliability, and efficiency. You will be instrumental in defining changes to our data lake architecture and building processes that facilitate data accessibility and trust. Your work directly contributes to our mission by enabling data-driven decision-making and fostering product innovation that benefits job seekers and employers alike.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience with big data and streaming technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, Hive, Kafka, Spark, Flink, or similar
  • Exposure to workflow orchestration and pipeline tools like Airflow
  • At least 2+ years of coding experience in Python or Scala
  • Practical experience with data modeling, test automation, and building reliable data pipelines
  • Strong understanding of data processing in a “big data” environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for learning new technologies
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines (ETLs) to integrate data from various sources into the Glassdoor (Indeed) Data Warehouse
  • Develop and modify data models in collaboration with product and data teams to support evolving business needs
  • Create comprehensive documentation, provide training, and offer consulting to data warehouse users
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support critical business data pipelines and ensure high availability
  • Optimize data processing workflows for efficiency and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and deliver solutions that enhance analytics capabilities
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, implementing improvements as necessary
