About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our innovative team working on Health100, an AI-native health technology platform. This platform integrates pharmacies, providers, insurers, PBMs, and digital health solutions into a unified, consumer-focused ecosystem. As a key leader, you will be responsible for setting the technical direction for cloud-native, event-driven platforms and services that leverage Google Cloud AI. Your role involves collaborating with product and architecture teams to make pragmatic design decisions, mentoring engineering staff, and translating prototypes into reliable, secure, and high-performance production systems. Your leadership will be instrumental in elevating engineering standards, accelerating delivery timelines, and fostering a culture of craftsmanship and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software development experience, including hands-on Agile delivery and building enterprise-grade distributed systems.
- 5+ years of development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architectures.
- 2+ years working with Kafka or other event-driven platforms.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud computing technologies such as GCP, Azure, or equivalent public clouds.
- 3+ years applying engineering practices for security, resiliency, availability, and scalability in production environments.
- Experience with AI and generative AI solutions and technologies.
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including CI/CD, testing, and observability.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience (High school diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience).
Responsibilities
- Define and own the technical vision and strategic direction across cloud, backend, automation, and platform domains.
- Serve as the senior technical authority for high-impact initiatives, guiding architecture, engineering processes, and ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership, product teams, and open-source communities to define platform roadmaps and influence core system design.
- Lead the development of solutions from prototype to production, ensuring performance, security, reliability, and operational readiness.
- Drive innovation by applying deep technical judgment, fostering cross-team alignment, and staying current with emerging technologies and industry standards.
- Mentor senior engineers and promote best practices in software development, testing, observability, and security.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards and facilitate continuous improvement in engineering practices and workflows.
