About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Data Analyst to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. The ideal candidate will have 12 to 15 years of relevant experience in data analysis within the insurance or financial services sectors. You will collaborate closely with P&C business stakeholders across various units such as Programs, Wholesale, and Retail to understand their business processes, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting requirements. Your role will involve working with regional offices to define system scope and engaging with business and IT subject matter experts through workshops to validate use cases and architectural priorities. You will review data extracts from divisional data warehouses, define data sources, and translate complex business needs into precise data requirements, source-to-target mappings, and business rules. Your expertise will support the development and validation of insurance-specific KPIs and metrics, ensuring data accuracy and integrity throughout migration and reporting processes. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • 12-15 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within insurance, healthcare, or financial services sectors
  • Strong understanding of insurance business processes, KPIs, and reporting standards
  • Proficiency in data modeling, source-to-target mapping, and business rules formulation
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts, cloud data lakes, and data migration projects
  • Knowledge of data profiling, gap analysis, and data remediation techniques
  • Familiarity with BI tools and dashboard development for semantic consistency
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities effectively

Responsibilities

  • Partner with P&C business stakeholders across Programs, Wholesale, and Retail units to understand and document business processes, KPIs, and reporting needs
  • Collaborate with regional offices to define system scope and identify key stakeholders
  • Conduct workshops with Business and IT SMEs to validate use cases, architectural priorities, and constraints
  • Review and analyze data extracts from divisional data warehouses to ensure data integrity and completeness
  • Define data sources across divisions, including target KPIs, product lines, premium data, organizational hierarchy, and reporting timeframes
  • Translate complex insurance business requirements into detailed data requirements, source-to-target mappings, and business rules
  • Support the definition and calculation of insurance KPIs such as Growth %, Retention %, Mix, and Line of Business expansion metrics
  • Work closely with Data Architects and Data Engineers to facilitate data ingestion, transformation, and cloud data warehouse/lakehouse implementation
  • Perform data profiling, gap analysis, and remediation activities for legacy systems to ensure data quality
  • Collaborate with BI teams to ensure semantic consistency across dashboards and reports
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), parallel data runs, and go-live activities to ensure smooth deployment
  • Validate data accuracy and business logic during migration phases and post-migration operations
