About The Role
The Health Data Analyst at Prime Therapeutics plays a vital role in providing comprehensive data analysis, insights, and consultation to internal teams and external stakeholders. This position involves evaluating the performance of pharmacy benefits and networks, identifying key drivers of benefit utilization, and developing actionable recommendations to enhance program efficiency. The analyst will participate in creating new analytical models, reports, and products aligned with Prime’s strategic goals. This role requires a strong understanding of pharmacy benefit data, proficiency in SAS and SQL, and the ability to communicate complex findings effectively to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the organization’s mission to optimize pharmacy benefits and improve healthcare outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmacy benefits management, analytics, healthcare, or related fields
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formula creation and data manipulation
- Proficiency in SAS EG and SQL for data analysis
- Experience with large datasets, including pharmacy, claims, medical, and financial data
- Strong industry knowledge of PBM metrics such as PMPM and generic utilization
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex data effectively
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret client pharmacy benefit data, trends, and reports to provide actionable insights
- Partner with the analytics team to develop new reports, models, and analytic methodologies
- Investigate key drivers affecting benefit performance and recommend improvements
- Create complex queries using SAS and understand table structures for detailed data analysis
- Participate in the development of new products, analytic tools, and reports that support organizational objectives
- Manage CMS reporting and analysis, including directory management and bid support
- Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to deliver project updates and recommendations
- Perform troubleshooting and research to resolve data-related issues efficiently
- Adhere to security protocols and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements
