About The Role
In the past three years, Dandy has established itself as a leader in digital-first custom dental appliance manufacturing. As the company scales to new heights, it is forming a world-class Machine Learning & Computer Vision team to advance its 3D dental platform and automate many human-driven manufacturing processes. This team operates remotely and tackles complex problems involving 3D geometric computer vision, generative deep learning, and state-of-the-art machine learning methods. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in laying the foundation for this innovative team, establishing best practices, solving unique data challenges with industry-wide impact, and driving technological innovation. Qualifications
- 1+ year of machine learning experience or recent Master’s degree graduate for Machine Learning Engineer I
- 2+ years of machine learning experience or recent PhD graduate for Machine Learning Engineer II
- Proficiency in Python programming language
- Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow frameworks
- Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality code and results
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
- Experience with state-of-the-art 2D deep learning techniques; experience with 3D deep learning is a plus
- Experience with 3D geometric computer vision is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Develop machine learning models to extract structure from unstructured, information-dense 3D scans and sensory data specific to dentistry
- Research and implement state-of-the-art methods for 3D generative AI and conventional computer vision tasks
- Collaborate with product and research teams to identify opportunities for product improvements and new features
- Handle large datasets to develop generic and fine-tuned models tailored for specific dental applications
- Create evaluation frameworks to validate dataset quality and model performance, ensuring reliability and accuracy
- Implement and optimize MLOps pipelines to support scalable and efficient machine learning workflows
- Work closely with product owners and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features rapidly to customers
